Palm Treo 700w

Palm Treo 700w: Palm Treo w series was introduced with an intention to create an all in one Personal digital assistant which can support various general purpose and multimedia applications. The series was started with Palm Treo 700w.

Palm Treo physical measurements came out good enough to declare it a sleek device in Personal digital assistant category. 4.4 by 2.3 by 0.9 inches and weight slightly lower than 6 and a half ounces, gives PDA a solid construction and just perfect for business and corporate use. Charcoal black and sliver combination suits Palm Treo very well.

The screen quality is not that much good as compared to other specifications of 700w but still showing 65000 colors at resolution of 240x240 seem to work. We got the keys over the PDA sorted as the functional and application keys at the top surrounding the 5 way navigation key and character keys aligned in four horizontal rows. Left spine of the PDA contains volume control and customizable button which could be assigned as any shortcut. The infrared and memory card expansion slot are at the top while multi connection port and speaker jack at the bottom.

This smart phone runs Windows Mobile 5 as an operating system which provides rich set of applications in every domain.

700w has 1.3 mega pixel camera at its back along with a mirror to support self portraits. 128MB of built in memory can be expanded by inserting a memory card. Audio quality is good so as the signal reception of the PDA. Unfortunately the dual band Palm Treo doesn't support wi fi which is a major leap back.

About 5 hours of talk time and 15 days in standby mode is enough for a battery to run Palm Treo 700w smoothly.

Summing up, the 312MHz Intel XScale processor seems to run Palm Treo up to expectations but lack of wi fi is something that business personal cant bear. Even then spending $500 for 700w will not be silly.
